Accommodations

Here are list of accommodations for our out-of-town guests.

**Please note: Sudbury is a very sprawled-out city, so if you plan on booking your accommodation somewhere not listed here, make sure it is near the South End/Four Corners area. Otherwise, you will be driving more than you want to…and you won’t want to…trust us!**

From Your Accommodations to the Wedding Venue

We have organized transportation to bring you from your hotel/motel/Holiday Inn to the wedding without you having to worry about driving there and finding a way back.

We highly recommend you choose one of our suggested hotels in the South End/Four Corners area. If the majority of our guests are in the same area of the city we can more easily bring you to the wedding and bring you home from the wedding.

A bus will pick you up from you hotel and bring you to the wedding. Shuttles will also leave periodically throughout the night to bring you back to your hotel.

A note on reserving rooms through Priceline or Hotwire: You may save some money but you are not guaranteed a hotel in the South End near the wedding venue. We cannot pick people up with the shuttle bus who stay in New Sudbury, as it is far. Farther than it looks on the map. Traffic is a big, silly thing in this city and every major road has construction and, as the locals love to gripe about, potholes the size of meteor craters.

Hotels

Hampton Inn – brand new, higher end hotel. Starts at $139. Five minutes away by car from the wedding site. [NOTE: You can save $10 (whoa!) by calling to make your reservation. We have a batch of rooms reserved here for the wedding. Call to make the reservation and give them the name of the happy couple “Bennett – Kimmel” to reserve your super duper discount. Hot breakfast is included! Hot diggity! Book by June 30th]

Homewood Suites – Also brand new located right beside the Hampton Inn, features mostly suites. Starts at $139 if you book early. Five minutes away by car from the wedding site.

Comfort Inn – Across the street from hotels above. Five minutes away by car from the wedding site.

Holiday Inn – ask to stay in the newer part of the hotel. Approx. 10 minutes from wedding site. [NOTE: We have a batch of rooms reserved here.  Call to make the reservation and give them the name of the happy couple “Bennett – Kimmel” to reserve your super duper discount. Okay, maybe not that super, but if you are lacking a place to stay rooms here are approx. $129/night. Remember to ask to stay in the newer part of the hotel! Book by July 10th]

Travelodge – Approx. 10 minutes from wedding site.

Super 8 – Approx. 10 minutes from the wedding site.

Bed & Breakfasts

Sudbury South Suites B&B – very spacious and clean. Owners are very friendly. No curfew. Approx. 10 minutes from wedding site. Have a 1-bedroom with bath for $69, and 2-bedroom, 2 bath suite (includes extra futon, indoor hot tub and dining area, all private) for $199 per night. Additional people are $15 extra.

Millwood B&B – a bit smaller and quainter. No curfew. Have four rooms. Prices start at $85 (full listing on the website). They have a lovely backyard and great indoor lounge area. Five minutes from wedding site.

Artisan Upstairs Guesthouse B&B – very deceiving exterior, but the inside is lovely (website doesn’t do it justice)! Hand-carved wooden decor, very cool place. One room with double bed, ensuite bath and shared kitchen for $120. Or 2 bedroom suite (one double bed, two single beds) and ensuite bath for $185 and shared kitchen. Or rent the whole thing for $310! (which would sleep 6 people)  Kitchen is fully outfitted and has a private deck. Approx. 15 minutes from wedding site in downtown Sudbury.

Auberge-sur-Lac – Can’t vouch for this one because no one is ever home. Right across the lake from wedding site. 3 minutes by car, 10 minutes by canoe 😉

Parker House – Very nice but very pricey for this neck of the woods. The only Victorian B&B in Sudbury. 15 minutes from wedding site.

Cabins

Uncle Jack’s Log Cabins – Remote wilderness cabins not too far from the wedding site in kilometers, but conditions of the road make it that it’s a half-hour drive. Very cozy, newer cabins, but also very rustic. We’re talking outhouses. If you want to experience a “camp” in northern Ontario, this would be it.

Budget Accommodation

Carol’s Campsite – literally two minutes away from wedding site. Located on Richard Lake. It’s not the most private campground in the world, and you have to share with RVs but it’s only $32 per night and it’s really close. No reservations necessary.

Richard Lake Motel [New Addition] – this motel is right across the street from Carol’s Campsite. We checked it out and it looks good, smells nice and is very clean. Check out the website for more information. Rooms range from $60-$70. No HBO 🙂

Urban Oasis Guesthouse – a hostel located in downtown Sudbury. Spartan but clean. $30 per person in dormitory rooms, or $45 for private room with double bed. Approx. 15 minutes from wedding site. Officially doesn’t exist anymore.

Remember to book early since it’s the Civic holiday long weekend!!
